What is a butcher's hook called?
The hook used by butchers is called a meat hook. It's designed to help butchers handle and move large pieces of meat, such as beef quarters and other carcasses. This type of hook is often curved, strong and made of stainless steel or carbon steel, depending on the requirements. They are often 'S' shaped, hence the term 'esse hook'.
S-shaped hooks are useful for hanging long pieces, as they can be easily hung without damaging them.
Stellinox offers various models of meat hooks, as well as the three-point hook, in packs of 10.
