ABS butcher's counter container
The display in refrigerated counters
The cold counter in a butcher's shop, often a delicatessen, is a showcase for the various meats that the butcher presents to you, as well as the various ready-to-eat meals. It's the butcher's way of showing off his culinary talents!
The butcher's specialities should be highlighted in the shop showcase, whether it's sausages, hams or delicatessen products, as this is an excellent way of suggesting new ideas for meals and tasting the butcher's products.
A well-stocked counter will always contain a range of different cuts of meat, sausages and cooked products. Dishes prepared with the freshest ingredients are an excellent way to attract customers.
In addition to showcasing the butcher's products, the display case or cold counter is a means of announcing special offers or promotions and informing customers about new products or services offered by the store.
Using an ABS display container for your refrigerated counter
A display container is a great way to present food. A display dish made from ABS, a durable material, is ideal for use in cold counters It's also impact resistant and easy to clean. Available in white or black, it is always elegant and enhances the presentation of cooked and meat products.
Available in other colours, such as yellow, green or blue for fish displays, the colour differentiation of these trays can help differentiate presentation areas, making them easier for consumers to identify.
Stackable, easy to clean and durable, the ABS display tray has it all. You can also install different display models to match these trays, such as staircases to add height to your presentation, corner displays to make the most of your showcase space, and a carousel, a rotating display that makes servicing easier and adds to the attractiveness of your showcase and your presentations.
The Rigaflex company
Rigaflex SA, Erlinsbach, is one of the leading suppliers of rectangular display trays, round salad bowls, oval-square salad bowls and octagonal salad bowls in various sizes, as well as display steps for butcher's buffets in refrigerated counters. Marketed under the RIFLEX-Switzerland brand, most of the products are made of ABS, a tough, impact-resistant plastic that can withstand temperatures from -25° to +80° C.
The Rigaflex dishes marketed by Stellinox offer a modern, attractive way of presenting fresh products and are designed to meet the specific needs of the butcher's trade, both in terms of hygiene (dishwasher safe) and resistance (mostly unbreakable), with different sizes (specific dimensions for buffets) and several colours: white, black (often used for meat), green, yellow. They can be used to decorate your showcase, but also for the selection of dishes and salad bowls, in particular to present salads or gratins on the side of the cooked meals and to attract the attention of the public.
Stellinox is the exclusive distributor for France and is at your disposal to help you make the right choice for your shop showcase, butcher's, delicatessen, cheese shop, fishmonger's, caterer's, cafeteria... any counter where you need refrigeration.

Another option for your showcase is to use melamine dishes. Light, unbreakable (or almost) and very colourful, melamine tableware is becoming increasingly popular in all sectors of the catering industry (delicatessens, cheese shops, bakeries, fishmongers, butchers, etc.) as well as in restaurants. The properties of this (food safe) plastic resin make it a durable and extremely resistant alternative to porcelain tableware, with a much more flattering look and feel than traditional plastic! In addition to being impact-resistant, scratch-resistant and cold-resistant (for use in cold counters), our melamine dishes and trays are available in a wide variety of shapes and looks (wood, concrete, slate, porcelain...), colours and even gastronorm sizes!
Successful butchery showcase
The presentation of a butcher's showcase is essential to attract customers and encourage them to buy. A well-presented showcase should be clean, well-organised, well-lit to showcase products and offer visual variety while remaining clear and attractive to customers.
The display should be clean and well maintained at all times. This reflects the general hygiene of the store. Organise products in a way that is logical and pleasing to the eye. Similar cuts of meat should be grouped together to make them easier for customers to understand.
Use appropriate lighting to enhance the colour and freshness of meat. Warm lighting can enhance the red hues of meat, making it more appetising. Use stainless steel or neutral trays or containers to present meat in a clean, professional manner. Accessories such as fresh herbs can add a touch of freshness; you can also use plastic garnishes such as bay leaves and parsley.
Change the arrangement of products regularly to avoid monotony and show that the products are fresh.
Labels must clearly state the name of the product, the price and, where possible, the origin of the meat. Labels can also indicate whether the product is organic or locally sourced. Use a legible, elegant font; personalised slates or labels can add an artisanal touch to your presentation.
Place promotions in a strategic, highly visible position in the showcase. Use colourful displays to draw customers' attention to special offers. Highlight seasonal products or current specials to encourage customers to try something new.
Combine different shades of meat with decorative elements to create a pleasing visual contrast. For example, red meat can be placed next to lighter products such as poultry. Play with textures by displaying cooked products, such as sausages and kebabs, next to raw meats for visual variety.
Adapt the display to the season or holiday (Christmas, Easter, summer...). For example, for summer barbecues, you can present marinades, kebabs and sausages in a summery setting. Tell a story through the presentation: highlight the origin of the products, artisanal preparation methods or traditional recipes to create a link with the customer.
Offer recipe cards alongside the products on display, or show how to cook and prepare certain pieces of meat. This can boost sales by inspiring customers. If possible, offer product tastings, especially of new products or house specialities.
Once you've set up your display, all you need to do is decorate it with a few additional elements.
