What is a Cold Buffet Display Unit?
A Cold Buffet Display Unit is professional equipment used to display and keep food cool at buffets or catering events. Designed specifically for food that needs to be kept at a low temperature to maintain freshness and avoid the risk of bacterial proliferation, it can be used to display meals such as salads, seafood, desserts, cheeses and other temperature sensitive foods.
Aesthetically pleasing: Often used in hotel buffets, restaurants or receptions, they are designed to be visually appealing yet functional. These displays are essential for food safety in self-service environments where food is exposed for long periods of time.
The main features of a cold buffet display include an integrated refrigeration system, either electric or with eutectic pads, to ensure that food is kept at a safe temperature (generally between 0°C and 4°C). Different configurations: they can be presented as built-in containers, refrigerated trays or showcases. Convenient access: some models have glass or transparent plastic lids or are open to allow guests to easily serve themselves while keeping food fresh. There are also tiered refrigerated display units that allow different dishes to be presented on different levels to maximise the space available.
