Made of durable aluminium, it is suitable for both gas and electric cooking.
Precautions for aluminium: before first use, wash thoroughly with water and a suitable detergent. When cleaning after use, avoid steel straws and alkaline detergents which, even if diluted, will discolour and corrode the aluminium. However, standard scouring pads are perfectly compatible.
Washing in a dishwasher at temperatures above 35°C can leave stains or marks on the surface. The dark patina that forms on the inside of aluminium cookware is caused by spontaneous oxidation of the metal and forms an inert protective barrier that should not be removed. Acidic and salty foods, such as marinades or brines, can be cooked safely in ultra-pure aluminium cookware. On the other hand, aluminium cookware is not suitable for canning as it can spoil the food..
