Posted on10/27/2023

To clean melamine tableware and remove stains, follow these simple steps:

Materials required

- hot water

- Mild detergent

- Soft sponge or microfibre cloth

- Baking soda (optional)

- White vinegar (optional).

Preparation

- Fill a sink or bowl with hot water

- Add a few drops of mild detergent to the water.

Soak your tableware

Dip your melamine tableware in soapy water.

Gentle cleaning

Use a soft sponge or microfibre cloth to gently scrub the surface of the tableware. Avoid using scouring sponges or abrasive brushes as they can damage the melamine.

Concentrate on stains

For stubborn stains, you can make a baking soda paste by mixing a little water with baking soda until you get a thick paste. Apply this paste to the stain, leave for a few minutes and then rinse.

Rinse thoroughly

Rinse dishes thoroughly with clean water to remove any soap residue.

Additional option: use white vinegar

If the stains persist, you can try gently rubbing the melamine tableware with a cloth soaked in white vinegar. Then rinse thoroughly with clean water.

Drying

Dry the melamine crockery with a clean cloth, or leave to air dry.

Checking the results

If the stains haven't disappeared, repeat the cleaning process.

Additional tips

- Never use bleach or harsh chemicals on melamine crockery, as this can damage it.

- Do not leave highly coloured foods or liquids in contact with melamine crockery for a very long time, as this may cause staining.

- If you are using a dishwasher, make sure the melamine crockery is placed in the top rack, and use a gentle cycle, not exceeding 70°C.

By following these steps, you should be able to clean melamine crockery effectively and remove stubborn stains.
